Building on the release of its inaugural Sustainability Report in 2023, Aden China remained dedicated in 2024 to advancing the “Sustainable Transformation of the Built Environment,” embedding ESG principles across all operations. This report outlines our yearly progress and reinforces our commitment to collaborating with clients, employees, and communities for a sustainable future.
Environmental : leveraging digitalization for low-carbon goals
In response to climate challenges, Aden China has committed to ambitious 2030 targets: a 42% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions, a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions, a 42% cut in total energy consumption, a 10% decrease in water use, and a 25% increase in waste recycling.
The “Aden-Akila GHG Project” has been instrumental, enabling real-time monitoring and reporting of energy and emissions data from 15 project sites across China. This digital foundation supports smarter, low-carbon operational decisions.
Our “Green Packaging” and “Green Catering” initiatives advanced throughout the year. We reduced packaging material usage, promoted biodegradable and reusable alternatives, and lowered the carbon footprint of our catering services by reducing beef options and introducing more plant-based meals.
By the end of 2024, we maintained our GHG emission intensity (Scope 1+2) at 0.0024 tCO₂ per 10,000 RMB revenue and our energy consumption intensity at 0.0049 MWh per 10,000 RMB revenue. The year concluded with zero environmental non-compliance incidents.
Social responsibility: empowering our people and engaging communities
Our people remain central to our strategy. We delivered a total of 49,936 hours of occupational health and safety training in 2024, achieving 100% employee coverage. The “ESG Moment” program, led by 29 ESG ambassadors, successfully inspired green office practices and energy-saving behaviors across our national teams.
Fostering a culture of continuous learning, we provided over 20 hours of average training per employee. Open and transparent communication was upheld through the OneVoice intranet, town hall meetings, and union activities.
In our communities, Aden China maintained partnerships with special education schools, offering social practice opportunities for youth with intellectual disabilities. We also supported rural revitalization efforts and organized environmental volunteer activities, encouraging active employee participation.
Corporate governance: a robust framework built on integrity
Aden China has established a comprehensive ESG management framework structured around four pillars: minimizing environmental impact, empowering our people, ensuring healthy and responsible growth, and fostering continuous innovation. In 2024, 100% of employees completed business ethics training, and there were no confirmed cases of corruption, legal disputes, or privacy violations.
